Testimonials

Please find a few testimonials from people we've worked with.

Organising and running seminars, workshops and events, often has its rewarding moments. Sometimes, you get to experience a unique experience, pardon the pun. And if you can string along the moments at those experiences, the rewards are an experience in itself.

With absolutely, no expectation of and to say the least, what is Life Coaching through Creative Art, I decided to venture into an area, totally foreign to me. A fish out of water, would have been more at home.

What transpired, was an afternoon of fun, art for arts sake, paint for paints sake, akin to what i always say,  Music being an outlet of the mind. And this Life Coaching through Creative Art is akin to an outlet of the Soul.

The faciliator Heidi Cornelisen, of Completely Human, has this unique gift and style of drawing, literally and emotionally , your mind and soul out and expressed through Creative Art. One's aspirations, one's purpose, one's inner self,  one's expressive self from within onto canvas.

My final piece of art, hangs in my study, a testimony of inner self expression, or rather, guided by a gifted, patient and unique Life Coach, gently leading you, explaining, to you, the creative purpose and process, step by step, with passion and a genuiness and sincere approach, so much so, she comes across like  a bridge, so to speak, from within you to final canvas, Absolutely, exciting, thought provoking and relaxing workshop.

I totally recommend anyone, who, whether, looking for a relaxing, distractive form of outlet,  from whatever,  afternoon, to self expression and venture with an open mind to Life Coaching through Creative Art   I challenge you to Try It.
Thank you Heidi.

I've attended 2 Creative Art & Life Coaching Workshops run by Jackie and Heidi in Roleystone. My experience with art has been limited; having to draw and paint during my school days almost put me off for life, so I was apprehensive when I arrived for the first workshop. However, it was friendly and fun right from the start. The workshops are a way of finding out more about yourself, discovering your creativity using paints and brushes, so helping you to create the life you want or would like to have. And, at the same time, making new friends. Jackie and Heidi's workshops are all about putting the fun back into creating art and finding yourself, and learning there are no mistakes. If you paint something and you don't like it, you just paint over the top of it - simple, really! Now, I'm eagerly awaiting my third visit. Give it a go.  I'm sure you'll enjoy the workshops.

Barbara Coles, WA

I gained a lot of positive insight into my life which I thought was in a negative state, with ageing parents and a mentally ill father who continues to create havoc with those associated with his affairs. Through the art therapy course I was able to put my life and the lives of others into perspective. I could see the path ahead and also the kind and loving people that surround me. I came home thinking more positively about my situation with the view to take each day with renewed vision,  that I am supported and already have the people resources and guidance that I need.

Katie Angel, Mount Nasura

Joining Heidi and Jackie in their Life coaching thru Art workshop series has allowed me the opportunity to go deeper to find and release the “Real and Authentic Me”.  As a part of a series it is like unwrapping the present which is “ you”  layer by layer at your own pace.

Barb Ferguson, South Perth

I would like to thank Heidi and Jackie for the most wonderful experience they offer with their art classes.  I always wanted to paint but never thought I was good enough – I thoroughly enjoy my art classes with them, and now I display my artwork around my house and office with pride. Their classes are a very personal experience that I highly recommend and encourage everyone to do.  Hopefully I will see you down there one of these day too.  Thank you from the bottom of my heart for giving me the experience and courage to overcome a huge obstacle in my life, and turn it into a very positive passion in life.

Cally Ockerby, WA

Thank you Heidi and Jackie for an enlightening and enjoyable Saturday afternoon trying my hand at painting.  It afforded me time to reflect in a tranquil setting.

Sherryn McBride

“I had the pleasure of attending a Creative Art & Life Coaching Workshop held by Heidi and Jackie last weekend.

It was such an enlightening experience and through the art and coaching, I became more aware of areas in my life which require balance and I was able to take a snap shot of my values and look at how I am living in accordance to these.

Heidi and Jackie create a wonderfully warm and supportive environment and I was able to be creative without any fear about ‘not doing it right’.

Thank you ladies!”                                                              Lara Farrow, Warwick

Heidi is a true leader in her field. I was fortunate enough to be trained by Heidi in 2002/2003. The training that I received has benefitted me in my financial field and still provides me with excellent expertise today.

Being Completely Human

The Completely Human Philosophy

“Be a life long or short, its completeness depends on what it was lived for”
David Starr Jordan

Do you sometimes feel that you're wandering along a path of trying to be ‘something’ or ‘somebody’ but you’re not really sure, who or what? Are you spinning your wheels trying to be okay with it all? .

You're preconditioned to be perfect only to feel disappointed when you realise that you're Only Human – but, ironically as you evolve, you learn that, that in itself can be perfection. Perfection comes with being complete. Complete within yourself. Complete in your interaction with the environment – And with others.

The knowledge that you’re perfectly complete doesn’t protect you from daily challenges, struggles, rewards and joys however. It makes you able to appreciate them instead. Also – importantly, you learn to absorb and appreciate that the journey from “Only Human” to “Completely Human” equates to a journey from limitation to glorious opportunity!

But – what do we mean by “completeness”? We believe you carry your own unique collection of "balloons" with you through life. Each balloon represents an area or need in your life, namely finances, career, love, friends, wellness (health & exercise), spiritual, family and community. As you naturally progress and get older, the quantity of balloons you keep aloft expands or intensifies. . Unless, of course you remain isolated or insulated!

Wonderfully, however, despite increasing the number of balloons - the original balloons don't become obsolete. The beauty of getting older and wiser incorporates the expansion and/or diversification of your human-ness into further needs: friends, career, spirituality, personal development. But, sadly, before you know it, you find yourself trying to juggle these precarious balloons above your head. To the extent that it feels like a constant struggle and you become tired and frustrated! You instinctively know you have to keep them equally aloft, if you want to remain on the ground and feel stable.

It’s therefore a challenge  to ensure that all your balloons are constantly flying high ensuring that overall balance is maintained. This is what we call being Perfectly Complete. And Completely Perfect.

Achieving the completeness you seek, namely being in touch- and well grounded with all your individual balloons is both a difficult art and discipline. You begin by acknowledging each balloon with its unique place in your life.

If you aren't aware of your balloons they will fly away from you. Or deflate and drop down.

What we hope to achieve through Completely Human, is to enable you to understand your personally created collection of balloons. And through happily balancing them above your head you'll develop into your realm of perfect completeness.

Wellness Coaching

My personal definition of wellness: The ability to live life to the fullest, to have a zest for life, to maximize personal potential in a variety of ways.

WE OFFER COACHING AND WORKSHOPS TO HELP YOU LOOK AT AND DEVELOP VARIOUS AREAS OF YOUR LIFE

9 Areas of Wellness

  1. Exercise
  2. Diet, beauty and vitality
  3. Mental
  4. Social and Hobbies
  5. Relationships
  6. Career/Occupation
  7. Financial/Money
  8. Environment/Community
  9. Spiritual

1. Exercise

No need to flog a dead horse on this issue. We all have enough information on these benefits. From weight loss, to energy, to cardiovascular health, to just feeling great. There is no excuse not to exercise. Your body was designed to move. You owe it that. I have designed walk/run programs that can take your from complete inactivity to running a marathon - should you desire. Linked with Annika for Nordic Walking - which, in my opinion is the best form of walking. A full body workout which burns more calories. I can put a structured program together and with my online facility you can monitor your progress. See both http://www.humanFit.com.au and http://www.axesspoles.com.au.

2. Diet, Beauty & Vitality

Completely Human has an entire module on the website to address this module of your life.

3. Mental

If your brain dies - you die. Sweet and simple. It's a muscle that needs to be exercised. Unbeknown to you possibly, you're continually developing within yourself. You process internal and external information all the time. You do however need to "train" yourself to listen to AND to hear your own inner voices; this means the more effectively you can benefit and learn from your own experiences. Create your own awareness: How often are you thinking these thoughts? Are they negative or positive thoughts? Do these thoughts lead to action?

  1. Activity for week: Take on an observer status of your life. Watch your thoughts, behaviours, reactions and patterns. Be gentle on yourself - but have a look to see who is "out there" interacting with the world and who is "inside you".
  2. Keep your mind under the control of your soul.
  3. Keep a full heart rather than a full mind.

4. Social/Hobbies

Included here are friends and social activities. Find something that instills a passion in you. Follow it. Keep yourself interested in outside activities. Challenge yourself. Keep yourself exposed to new options and opportunities. You'll always learn from situation and from people. Fact.

5. Relationships

Your close relationships are more intimate than colleagues/acquaintances and can therefore bring you more reward and/or more pain. But common between the two "relationship" areas are that your emotions are unique to you. It's not the events around you that determine who you are, but rather your reactions to them. You choose how you handle your feelings.

  1. A good idea is to make appointments with your feelings. Allow them an outlet. Don't repress or deny them - give them the same kind of time and attention you would give anyone in a meeting.
  2. Exercise: Imagine a person you are jealous of or aggravated by at moment. Make list of what bugs you. When you see something in someone else, what you really want is to feel it inside yourself. Look at people who rankle you as mirrors.
  3. Let go of your need for approval and this will allow you to see yourself in others and your consciousness will escalate. You'll experience your relationships in an expanded state of awareness.Create a sense of equal to others and rather interact on that level.

6. Career

Definition of work (per Jeni Mumford) : The context in which you use your skills and talents in some way to give (and often) receive something of value, whether rmonetary, in kind, for your own satisfaction or as a duty of care.

Definition of career: (as per Jeni Mumford) You make choices that allow you to build on the skills and abilities you use at work so that you can take on bigger and more demanding roles

If you find your job is often on your mind after hours, the chances are that the "worry" is about money issues, boredom, a feeling of frustration or that something outside your control is pushing you.

The number one potential problem with a job is either not knowing what you want to do or not knowing what you're good at. The perfect job is one that keeps you fulfilled. Do you work to live or live to work?

Exercise to consider:

  • What makes you happy at home?
  • What makes you happy outside home?
  • What gives you satisfaction in your current work?
  • What's your best skill/trait?
  • What's your worst skill/trait?
  • What is the last thing in your life that gave you a huge sense of achievement?
    • I received this as a "Message from the Universe" one day. (A daily inspiration I subscribe to)

What if the word "work" was changed to "dance-with- life" ? And instead of it being viewed as an alternative to fishing or a way of "paying your dues," it was seen as a chance to meet a parade of new friends, discover your own untested potentials and unpolished gifts, and open avenues for abundance to come pouring into your life?

7. Money

Stop worrying about money as this gives it an importance of its own. Rather deal with the matters around the money. Very often it is your own belief systems that stop you making money in the way you choose.

  • Exercise: Define for yourself the difference between Money and Wealth.
    1. Write down each for yourself. Understand the difference.
    2. Focus on Wealth. Don't chase the money.
    3. What has to happen for you to feel "wealthy"?

8. Environment/Community

The more we give, the more we'll receive. We are a product of our environment and people will react to the way we are.

  • Also includes charity work (money and/or time)

Completely Human is affiliated to the James Crofts Hope Foundation. The Foundation is committed to providing assistance to people diagnosed with brain tumours and for their families, and also to the advancement of the treatment, and research of these conditions.

See www.jamescroftshopefoundation.org.au for more details.

9. Spiritual

  • What is this LIFE thing you have? (besides the bit between birth and death)
Living In Fulfilled Existence (L.I.F.E)

This means it carries an awesome individual responsibility with it.
So - make the best of it and live with purpose and meaning
Remember to leave a contribution to next generation:

  • The undisputed reality is that everyone has a spiritual need. Some are fulfilled through organized religion and others choose to explore options on their own terms. Living is a spiritual act and
  • Spirituality is defined as: Thoughts, beliefs or actions that give our lives its deepest meaning.

Completely Human can help you explore and nurture your own inner self combined with your external reality. By becoming whole, you'll realise and appreciate how perfect you are as an individual.

    What is Life Coaching?

    Life Coaching Perth

WHAT WOULD YOU DO IF YOU COULD CHANGE YOUR LIFE?

    • Which behaviours don't work for you?

    • What truly makes makes you happy?

    • Do you have peace with who you are and what your place in the world is?

Wholeness Coaching means working out what you REALLY want.

Focus on what your own life is actually about – rather than what you (or others) think it should be.

Wouldn't it be nice if things made sense?

Coaching assists you to find meaning in your life, by focusing on various elements in your life:

    • Career and work

    • Money and wealth

    • People and relationships

    • Health and wellbeing

    • Personal growth

Coaching allows you to be specific about changes you wish to make and formulating action plans

Changes don't usually last unless they come from deep within you.

Coaching at its best allows, enables and empowers you to call on your own self, anytime, any place with or without the support of another human being.

    • Life coaching helps you to work out your unique gifts and your true priorities.

    • Life Coaching supports you in eliminating blockages that prevent you from doing, having and being what you want.

    • Life Coaching generates all the inspiration, motivation, guidance and practical options that you need.

    • Life Coaching helps you achieve the highest level of self awareness. And this is the most beneficial outcome of all personal development.

Modes of Coaching used by Completely Human:

    Timeframes for Coaching Sessions

There is no set time frame for how long a coaching relationship should last. It's  dependent on the situation and how much work is required of both the coach and the coachee. It's also dependent on the available time and level of commitment of the client - that's YOU.

There is therefore no set guideline for the length of the coaching relationship. The initial assessment session could less than 90 minutes, but each session thereafter will last for 90 minutes.

Completely Human usually enters into a six-session contract upfront.

This provides sufficient time to develop the relationship and provide some sustainable solutions for the client.

We believe however, in keeping the dialogue regarding number of sessions open and honest at all times. This will always provide clarity.

Phone and email coaching are naturally available from Completely Human between the sessions.

    Cost of Life Coaching sessions

This depends on the type of coaching offered.

It also depends on the type of payments made. Full upfront payment for 6 sessions invites a 15% discount. Belonging to the other Completely Human groups also invites a discount.

What happens when I come for coaching?

The first session will be a session for us to see if there is a "match" to your needs as well as to the services of Completely Human. Each client receives a "Welcome Package"; which is a personal folder with a variety of worksheets (client form; agreement and kick-off questions).

You also receive a notebook for journaling and homework. Your welcome pack also includes a CD and a Recommended Reading List.

You don't have to know at the outset exactly what it is you want to fix or improve - Coaching may just help you identify that vague, nagging feeling of dissatisfaction that you have.

The biggest benefit of life coaching is the self-awareness it brings which allows you to have peace with your life choices.

Today, living and learning must go hand in hand. Each new bit of knowledge, each new experience is an extra tool in meeting new problems and working them out. It takes everything we can acquire to help us understand the new situations, the new problems that are arising on all sides.
When I began – so slowly – actually to look around me and to try to understand the meaning of what I saw, everything I encountered became more interesting and more valuable. It was like a two-dimensional picture seen in three dimensions, with depth.
If you can develop this ability to see what you look at, to understand its meaning, to readjust your knowledge to this new information, you can continue to learn and to grow as long as you live and you’ll have a wonderful time doing it.”
    - Eleanor Roosevelt

    Coaching

My First Exposure to Life Coaching....

I absolutely believe that people, unless coached, never reach their maximum capabilities.
    - Bob Nardelli, President and CEO of Home Depot

Funny enough my journey with Life Coaching started with a magazine article. And not even an article I came across myself. A friend gave me a copy, wanting my opinion on it, potentially being something he thought he may be interested in.

I was a defensive skeptic towards anyone claiming to know me better than I know myself. And heaven help those who offered ways for me to get to know myself better!
Let’s get real – I’d lived with myself all my life – why would I need to dig deeper and delve into who I was - all in the name of discovering the old cliché of an ultimate life purpose.

Despite all these negative preconceptions, the Universe nudged me forward and I committed to six sessions with the author of the article I’d been exposed to - someone called a Life Coach.
I write this now – after my six sessions have ended - as a different person. Or perhaps just a more real version of the same person?

I started my unnerving first session with the serious belief that I was crazy – or damn near close to it – with my life seemingly out of control. I had too many balls in the air and lived in fear of trampling the eggshells I’d created as my constant footpath. My list of “wants” seemed endless and - more worrying to me – they all appeared conflicting. Today I battle to believe I felt, let alone said, the things I did.
I now have proof that fundamental and soul changing shifts can happen over a surprisingly short period of time.

As with many neatly laid out plans, unforeseen changes are guaranteed. The strength in a relationship and journey such as this is in its morphological nature. Each session cleverly moulded around what my needs were - then and there.

As a rule, I hate repeating myself and am acutely aware of what I’ve said previously and particularly to whom. The liberation of speaking to a Coach came with the freedom to rehash an idea or concept – allowing me to fully understand it!

The coaching process delivers a lot through guidance, leadership, highlighting patterns and raising awareness. Learning is undoubtedly facilitated. During a number of  sessions I ‘accused’ my coach of making me think.

Life coaching is nothing revolutionary. As children someone held our hand as we took our first steps into the world of independence. And so, as adults, we may also need to reach out and allow someone to hold our hand through change and exploratory processes. Looking back I know that the answers acquired and the journey itself were my own, but the guided, professional hand-holding was as important as the process itself.

I now live in a comfortable space, enjoying being myself. I know I’m not crazy. I’m just me. And that’s perfect in itself.

There are three ways I learn. With my mind. With my body. With my heart. Learning using all three these faculties ensures I absorb. Absorption ensures complete understanding.
    • I learnt to listen (and hear) the way I say things – shifting responsibility from the comfortable word “they” who don’t touch my emotional space to the uncomfortable word “me”.
    • I understood that I never have to provide justification for who I am or what I feel.
    • I learnt that people’s stuff is their stuff. Leave it there.
    • I understood the value of not focusing on the outcome of everything I do. By being the real me in every minute of every day – everything (including me) is as it should be. Always. Perfectly.
    • I have redefined both the concept and the word ‘Perfect’ to myself and in my world.

I’m challenged by the words of Jonathan Winters, “If your ship doesn’t come in, swim out to meet it.”

I think I’m ready. I’ve grown some fins.

    The Difference of Coaching

What is the Difference Between Coaching, Counselling, Mentoring and Training?

    Counselling

Is usually focused on the past; solving unresolved issues that have occurred previously and trying to understand behaviour patterns and emotional situations.

Focus is often on the guidance of the therapist; until client is ready to guide his/her own life.

The question "why" is often asked. Clients are often dealing with serious and complex personal issues (serious pain and suffering).

    Coaching

Is future focused. It looks at where you're at now; who you are now and finds a method to move forward. A process of understanding who you are, and through self acceptance drive yourself forward to achieve what you want to achieve.

A coach will work with you in identifying, clarifying, and achieving your personal and career goals and aspirations. The approach is focused upon supportive and challenging inquiry rather than providing information, so you can create your own solutions to issues, and design your life and work in the way that fits best for you.

The five notions of a life coach:

    1. Clients are essentially able by themselves
    2. Clients know themselves best
    3. Clients must acknowledge & take credit for their own successes
    4. The focus is on solutions, not problems
    5. Problems are what clients have; not what they are.

    Training

Is a process to equip you with skills to achieve a certain level of function in a certain area.

It assumes that participants will learn and use the information to a similar degree.

    Consulting

Is a process usually provided by an outsider with a viewpoint on what your situation looks like. Then guidance and/or advice is provided from their perspective and experience on how to achieve what they suggest is necessary for you.

Focus is usually problem-solving; creation of action plans and strategy; and it's more of a directive and advisory role.

The expertise of the consultant is a focus and could determine the success/failure of what is required by client. Very often, a specific project is focused on.

    Mentoring

An arrangement where an expert in a field helps more junior professionals to gain knowledge, skills and experience. A mentor has a large resource pool and is usually in the same role as the person being mentored.

    What We Do

The Life Coaching process is one of self discovery and self empowerment.

Completely Human Coaching is based on...

"I believe in You". And your ability to find the answers you’re looking for inside of you.

Completely Human's personal definition of coaching is the following:

Coaching is a process of moving from “not knowing” or “not doing” (ie. Powerlessness) to discovering your own answers.

It also includes having the sustainable belief in them to effect positive and healthy change in your own life.

Doing any form of personal development work is your opportunity to provide yourself with what you need to grow, expand and reconnect with yourself.
